Windows 7: A review so far

If you did not know,  I am not fan of crApple. Their commercials are fanboyish and their cRAC books are way over priced. Plus, they do not run Microsoft office efficiently. Office 2007 far outshines Snow Leprosy. Word, Powerpoint, Publisher; nuff said.

My Toshiba Satellite has served me well for over a year now and I like it even better because of Windows 7. I was only using one 32-bit processors when I purchased the student edition of Windows 7 for $40. Then, I upgraded to utilize both of my processors. After some initial kinks due to the changes I had made, I have come to enjoy how fast my computer runs now. This is just the beginning and I cannot wait to try all of the new feature on here.

Truth and Peace,

It’s amazing to me how many people continue to switch from the darkside to the light everyday. Windows is buggy, virus plagued and good for a year or so before major issues arise. I would suggest that those who do not have good fortunes with Mac computers and Office Mac do not know what they are doing as it runs as well or better on a stable OS.

I had a Toshiba Sattelite for a few years myself. It ran XP SP2 and slowed down considerably after the 1st year. It’s a crappy little pile of plastic and silicon and has served me well as a paper weight recently. I actually gave the PC to a man looking for old computer parts and kept the internal hard drive for personal use.

I am not sipping the crApple koolaid anytime soon. And people switch when they get higher paying jobs, not due to some revelation.

Mac developed a bit of a reputation for leaving exploitable vulnerabilities unpatched for rather extended periods. Mac is like Linux in that everybody likes to preach how secure it is, but ignore the fact that it’s only more secure because it’s market share is substantially less. Bugs are less likely to be exploited.

Even with Windows, the huge majority of vulnerabilities are patched before they are exploited in the wild, and never pass beyond proof-of-concept to people who keep their computers up to date.

Biggest problem with Windows PCs, at least on the security front, is Windows users. Very, very few viruses attack with no user interaction.

Windows 7 is actually fairly impressive. And I’m a Linux evangelist. I named my *son* Linux. And no, I’m not kidding. Linux Michael Sumner.

XP still outbenchmarks it, and most of the features don’t amount to much more than eye candy, but it’s what Vista should have been.

    • Rod says:

      Thank you, Rick.
That’s what Mac users will not tell you; the only reason why Window’s bugs are complained about more is because there are WAY more users!
